Disney Fantasy Ship Overview

As you can see, a Disney Standard Inside Stateroom makes great use of the available space. You can still enjoy all the features of the Disney Wonder, but for the lowest cost. The Inside staterooms are a particularly good choice for a budget-conscious couple. The Standard Inside Staterooms are the smallest staterooms on the Disney Wonder.

If you are looking for connecting staterooms then 5022 and 5024 connect, as do 5522 and 5524. It’s also pretty convenient if you like taking the stairs sometimes. A short walk down to the restaurants and a slightly longer walk up to the pool on Deck 9.

Disney Magic Cruise Ship: Complete Guide

The differenc between Standard and Deluxe on the earlier ships is that the Standard does not have the Split bathroom but the Deluxe does. Worlds of Marvel will put guests at the center of an Avengers adventure with a menu inspired by the superhero films. And 1923, a restaurant named for the year The Walt Disney Company was founded, will combine old Hollywood glamour with Disney animation. One category up is the 945-square-foot Concierge 2-Bedroom Suite with Verandah, which sleeps up to seven passengers with two bedrooms and two and a half marble-and-granite bathrooms.

Dining here requires an upcharge and space is usually in high demand; book as early as your onboard booking window allows. They’ll walk you through all the options, answer your questions, make your reservations for you, and share money-saving tips for Disney Cruises. The Vacationeer can even help you set up a zero-interest payment plan; you’ll often be able to book with just a preliminary deposit, then pay over time.

Disney Magic and Disney Wonder had launched more than a decade earlier in the late 1990s, followed by the Disney Dream in 2011. These would also be good options for combining staterooms when you need more than two for your group. If we look again at the Deck 2 Aft staterooms on the Disney Wish you can see that these will probably be some of the most sought-after Inside Staterooms on the ship. I think that these staterooms on Deck 2 will definitely have a polarizing effect. There will be those guests who definitely want them – and there will be those who actively avoid them.

Otherwise, the additional space (balconies in Concierge-level cabins are larger than those in balcony cabins) is a nice perk. Disney Magic's suites are classified as Concierge-level and are offered in a variety of configurations. A welcome cocktail party; free Wi-Fi (up to 100 MB), and access to the private Disney Magic Concierge Lounge are also offered free of charge to concierge-level passengers. Disney Magic cabins also include two hair dryers -- one in the desk drawer and another built into the bathroom wall (this one doesn't have much power and thus will require more time to dry, especially thick or long hair). Looks-wise, inside, oceanview and balcony (a.k.a. verandah) cabins on Disney Magic all share the same nautical color scheme of navy blues, reds and whites. These cabins also include pull-across privacy curtains that separate the main bed from the sofa bed.

Before returning to the ship, I send a postcard from the island and check out the special merchandise

It’s completely free to play and you don’t need to reserve a tee time. Just grab a putter and a goofball, er, golf ball — and perhaps a scorecard/pencil if you insist on keeping things official. More hard-core mini-golfers will appreciate that each hole offers two tee locations — one just for fun and one for a slightly more challenging experience. One of the most unique water spaces onboard the Disney Fantasy, Satellite Falls is an adults-only wading pool that features drizzling water directly underneath one of the giant satellite domes on the ship’s upper deck. Choosing your own private room onboard the ship is a major part of planning your Disney Cruise.

The ships each contain 875 staterooms[3] and are not identical in their design, with a lot of variations in interior design, restaurants, and entertainment venues. Both contain areas designed exclusively for various age groups, including children, teenagers, and adults. Current itineraries go to Alaska,[4] the Bahamas, the Caribbean, Australia and Europe, depending on the ship. The newer Disney Cruise ships were built in Meyer Werft Shipyard in Germany. It’s the place where your kids will probably spend most of their time onboard. For some families, it’s not uncommon for the kids and adults to part ways at breakfast and regroup at dinner, with the Kids Club filling the gap between.

Cool down with all-you-can eat soft-serve ice cream cones (included in the cost of your cruise!), or spend a bit extra to enjoy a specialty smoothie. During the day, it welcomes cruisers of all ages for games, activities, and dance classes. At night, it evolves into a vibrant adults-only nightclub with a lively bar scene. Dinner menu items include seared sea scallops, tableside-fileted dover sole, butternut agnolotti, tiramisu, and a signature chocolate soufflé that’s considered one of the most popular items across the entire Disney Cruise fleet.

Animator’s Palate offers a fan-favorite menu along with a taste of the magic of animation. The Disney Dream has 1,250 staterooms, most of which offer an outside view via either a porthole window or a verandah balcony. Those aged 14 to 17 have a unique indoor/outdoor space made just for them, complete with a super secret entrance! Indoors, teens will find plenty of TVs, video games, and tablets, plus dance parties, karaoke sessions, and group activities. Outside, there’s a private sundeck at the bow of the ship that’s perfect for games, splashing in one of two small pools, and sunbathing. This secure facility is accessible only to kids aged 3-10 and trained youth activities staff — but there are pre-scheduled open houses to allow parents and children to tour the location together.

My favorite things on the lunch menu are the ribs and macaroni salad. One thing I love about Disney Cruise Line and Castaway Cay is that there are plenty of adults-only spaces where kids are strictly not allowed. Over the past decade, I've taken eight Disney cruises with my family and friends. When I book, I always make sure Disney's private island in the Bahamas, Castaway Cay, is on the port of call.

For me, this is always a great chance to expand my culinary horizons with things I can’t normally get at home. My usual morning fare on the ship includes a giant healthy bowl of fresh muesli with dried fruits and nuts — admittedly usually with a few Mickey Waffles and bacon on the side (it’s all about the balance, you know). This restaurant offers a mix of American, Asian, and European favorites in an all-you-care-to-eat breakfast and lunch buffet served from nearly a dozen food stations. For dessert, indulge in the famed crème brûlée or enjoy a peanut butter mousse.

The Oceaneer Club is the primary kids activity onboard the Disney Fantasy. This toddler-friendly splash zone features PIXAR characters spraying water, a child-sized Mr. Ray waterslide, and more — all in a shaded, enclosed, soft-surfaced area. Lunch at Cabanas is a daily-changing mix of chilled and hot choices. Jumbo iced shrimp & crab claws are longtime cruise favorites here, along with hamburgers, sandwiches, pizza, freshly-grilled meats, veggies, and much more. Royal Court may also serve an alternate breakfast or lunch service on some days.

I Only Go on Cruises That Stop at Disney's Private Island Castaway Cay

The Disney Fantasy boasts 1,250 staterooms, most of which offer outside views through a porthole window or a private verandah (balcony). There are four primary types of staterooms on the ship; each of those four types is further divided into multiple categories and subcategories. Your choice of stateroom is one of the biggest factors in the how much a Disney Cruise costs, because the per-person cost can increase depending on the stateroom category. The main pool onboard the ship, Goofy’s Pool on deck 9 serves as the family pool onboard. In addition to the large main pool, you’ll also find a couple of whirlpool tubs nearby. The giant FunnelVision video screen and a large stage are nearby, so there’s always something to keep you entertained while swimming.

Deck 10

The Disney Dream is a sister ship to the Disney Fantasy, meaning the two are relatively equal in terms of construction (although similar areas on each ship are usually themed differently from one another). The Dream is significantly larger than the two original ships (Disney Magic and Disney Wonder) but is slightly smaller than the Disney Wish. Disney Cruise Lines allows pregnant women to sail on the ships but only until the 24th week of pregnancy. If the passenger enters their 24th week while on the cruise, they “will be refused passage due to safety concerns,” according to Disney Cruise Line’s website. Disney Cruise Line is offering an expanding summer program in 2024, with ships serving destinations in North America and Europe.

This Earmarked Diamond level Authorized Disney Vacation Planner, offers absolutely free help planning and booking your cruise. Or, they can head outside to a private sundeck at the bow of the ship to enjoy deck games, splash pools, and sunbathing. This secure facility is accessible only to kids aged 3-10 and trained youth activities staff — but there are pre-scheduled open houses to allow parents and kids to tour the location together. The AquaDuck is the premier water attraction onboard the Disney Dream. Almost all of the Disney Dream’s Room Service menu is offered at no additional charge – you’ll only have to pay for a few specialty items and to tip the crew member who delivers the food to your room. The ship’s motif is enchantment, and it focuses on a tale as old as time -- wishing upon a star.

Disney Wonder 7 Night Alaskan Cruise from Vancouver

Here we can see that the one Accessible Inside Stateroom on Deck 8 is 8073 which is located right next to the Laundry. This is probably not an ideal location as you will likely get some noise as this stateroom seems to share a wall with the Laundry. These will be good to combine with one of the Verandah staterooms close to them. You can see from the Deck Plan that there is an area marked Shipside Promenade.

Disney Dream Spas and Salons

There’s no doubt that the larger size fully envelops you in the action. That first glimpse of the ship in port as you arrive for your cruise — and its looming presence at every port along the way, almost become a point of pride for cruisers. All the Disney Wish Inside Staterooms will have 169 square feet of space. Disney Cruise ship stateroom design makes the most of every bit of space inside each cabin.

Thanks to a little Disney magic, the view out the “window” changes to a different city every fifteen minutes. Karaoke, trivia, game shows, and even dance parties can be found here on a daily basis. An adults-only retreat that focuses on specialty coffees and teas during the day, with cocktails in the evening. On certain cruises, there’s also a highly-demanded champagne brunch as well as a 5-course dessert experience. Dinner begins with a signature champagne cocktail prepared at your table.

Disney Wonder Standard Inside Stateroom Features

I don’t spend much time in the gym, but I do enjoy a nice walk for exercise. The Disney Magic offers a walking/jogging track on Deck 4 that offers close-up ocean views as well as a neat glimpse of some of the heavy machinery that keeps the ship going (should you be into that sort of thing like I am). It’s a great place to take a leisurely stroll after dinner, or take a jog if you’re so inclined. You might even recognize your stateroom host or dinner server – off-duty, of course – out for a run.

Oceanview Staterooms on Disney Magic

If one person wants to head to bed early, a heavy privacy curtain separates the seating area from the sleeping area. Most of these Disney Wonder secret porthole staterooms are located on Deck 5. They are sister ships and the design and layout of the staterooms are exactly the same.

Your dinner also includes a tribute to animation – Undersea Magic features interactive digital animation of the Finding Nemo characters in a show that’s reminiscent of EPCOT’s Turtle Talk with Crush. It’s a fun digital twist on the usual concept of dining with Disney characters. Verandah staterooms offer a private outside balcony which can be accessed through sliding glass doors. Most verandahs have see-through railings (with clear plexiglass for safety), but a few categories have solid metal partitions or are otherwise somewhat obstructed. One of the biggest decisions to make for your cruise is your own private room onboard the ship. The arrival of the Disney Dream in 2011 marked the first expansion of Disney Cruise Line’s fleet since its initial two ships in the late 1990s.

Your dinner also includes one of several shows which focus on the art of animation. The Disney Fantasy is one of the “mid-sized” ships in the Disney Cruise fleet, at least based on what we now about the remaining Disney Cruise ships currently being built. It is larger than the classic ships, but will be well below the gargantuan size of the ship Disney is planning to launch in Singapore in 2025. The arrival of the Disney Fantasy in 2012 marked what many saw (at the time) as the “completion” of Disney’s fleet, bringing the total number of ships to four.

The pub’s name is a nod to the ship’s hull number at the shipyard where it was created. It’s generally well-known that food is a big part of the cruise experience, and the Disney Dream is no exception. With three sensational main dining restaurants, two elegant adult-only dining options, multiple lounges/nightclubs, and plenty of places to grab a quick meal or a snack on the go, you certainly won’t go hungry onboard this ship. A bigger ship means more passengers, so you’ll find that all of the onboard venues are larger, too. Fortunately, the additional passengers are well absorbed by these so it rarely feels crowded. And thanks to clever design such as the use of forced perspective, there are still plenty of cozy spots onboard so you never really feel like you’re in a giant cavernous gymnasium.

Animator’s Palate is the flagship dining experience on the Disney Fantasy. It offers a fan-favorite menu along with a taste of the magic of animation. Verandah staterooms offer a private outside balcony which can be accessed through glass doors in your room. Most verandahs have see-through metal railings, but don’t fret if you have a toddler cruising with you — they also have clear plexiglass sheets on them for safety.

The shape alone clearly communicates this is designed for kids; The deeper zones of this still-shallow pool are shaped like the friendly face of everyone’s favorite pal, Mickey Mouse. Meanwhile, one of Mickey’s signature white gloves supports a bright yellow waterslide for kids aged 4 to 14 / height 38″ to 64″. This is a perfect place to enjoy Disney movies on the giant 24′ x 14′ FunnelVision screen nearby. This pool is sometimes closed during special on-deck events, covered with a retractable floor to offer more deck space. This contemporary sports bar offers live matches via satellite (when available) and comfortable lush seating.

Those booking connecting cabins can request to have the balcony partition removed to expand the outdoor space. Experience Swedish massage, aroma stone therapy, deep tissue massage, facials, acupuncture, teeth whitening, shampoo/cut/style, manicures, pedicures, CoolSculpting, and more. Tweens and young teens – ages 11 to 14 – have a space all to themselves onboard the Disney Magic. Edge is the perfect place to relax thanks to its moody boiler room feel. There’s a huge video screen, a dance floor, plus plenty of video games and crafts. A mix of planned activities and unstructured free time keeps things interesting.

Besides size, the major difference between this category and other categories on this ship is that these staterooms do not have the split-bathroom design of the others. These are all inside staterooms, but this is considered the “deluxe” choice. Each room contains one queen bed (or two twin beds), a single convertible sofa, and a split-bathroom design. I am a big fan of Deck 5 for any stateroom including the Inside category – I also like some of the white wall verandah staterooms on this Deck. You don’t really want to spend much time in your stateroom, but there is so much to do on the ship you really don’t need to. Perhaps you’re a regular exerciser, or maybe you just want to offset several days of all-you-can-eat meals.
